IMPROVING PUBLIC SCHOOLS

House District 136 has some of the best school districts in the state, including Round Rock ISD. However, the last year and a half has seen chaos, disarray, and division over masks, virtual schooling, and inappropriate books in public schools. The fight over books has been grossly misconstrued by progressive democrats; parents just want their school leaders to exercise common sense about what books students have access to. Rather than fighting over inappropriate books, our school leaders must raise the bar for ALL our students; rather than reading graphic comic books during school time, students should be reading the classics. Parents and students can, and should, decide what they are allowed to read out of school, but our school districts have consistently lowered the bar for academics and the required reading curriculum by allowing students to choose reading material that has no academic rigor and no place in a public-school setting. Amin wants to bring back common sense, empower parents to speak out on behalf of their children, and raise the bar for our public-school curriculum.
